About Me

I grew up in the Riverdale area of Toronto, Canada. I later moved to the Bloor and Sherbourne area and finally Thorncliffe Park before taking a job in the Chicago region of Elk Grove Village. Mostly, I have always lived in cities.

My family enjoyed camping and I was lucky to be part of the Cubs/Boy Scouts, where camping by lakes and beautiful wooded areas, including winter camping, taught me how important getting out of the city and appreciating our wilderness is. Waking up to a hot cup of percolator coffee made over the fire and drinking it from a ceramic mug was the best!

I remember being at Haliburton Scout Reserve and leaning over the side of a canoe to suck a drink of water right from the lake. The water was so clear and clean that I didn’t think twice about it.

Later in my 20s, I portaged through Algonquin Provincial Park with my brother and friends and again, everything was so peaceful, the water was pure and the hiking led you from one beautiful scenic view to even more captivating ones.

Now that I live in the Kawarthas, those amazing memories are part of what inspired me to create a travel mug that doesn’t add plastic to our environment. Microplastics are already everywhere and not adding more plastic must start somewhere. Small steps can lead to big impacts, and I hope with your support our small steps, one mug at a time, will make a difference in our environment and encourage the public to take more small steps towards improving our health and the planet.
